This is what you must know if you wish to register a .uk domain name. If you don't need a .uk domain, just ignore the article below. The .uk is a new, shorter, sharper United Kingdom domain with a launch date of 10 June 2014. Anyone wanting a new .uk domain, where there are no existing domains of the same name with rights (.co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .net.uk, ltd.uk or .plc.uk) will simply be able to register the new .uk domain. When you submit your order, we cannot automatically check and know if the .uk domain you are requesting is a grandfathered domain and if you own these rights. If you are the owner of rights and request a grandfathered domain name, make sure you submit the same contact information and email address you used on your matching .co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .net.uk, ltd.uk or .plc.uk domain name. You can recheck grandfathered status here.
